DOE Releases LED Street Light Adaptive Control and Remote Monitoring Module Specifications

Through the MSSLC (Municipal Street Light Solid State Lighting Alliance), the US DOE has released specifications for adaptive control and remote monitoring modules for LED street light fixtures to help municipalities and utilities to maximize their energy savings.

MSSLC's goal is to help cities, local agencies and utilities to accelerate the adoption of solid-state lighting technology in road and parking applications, a specification that is only part of it.

The control system was the focus of last year's Street and Regional Lighting Conference (SALC), and MSSLC released a draft of the control specification, which is now the final draft. This specification follows the original module specification document for road luminaires issued by MSSLC, a financial analysis tool and a presentation report.

Prior to the release of SALC (Southern Arizona Highway Council) using this standard news report, MSSLC listed the first Lowa project using the original module lighting specifications. Some cities in the state have joined forces to purchase a large number of LED street lights in accordance with the MSSLC specification.

Medium Voltage STA Armored Cable

Medium voltage STA cable is a type of Power Cable used for transmitting electricity at medium voltage levels. The armored cable is designed with a steel tape armor layer that provides mechanical protection to the cable against external forces, such as impact, crushing, and abrasion.
