Taiwan's LED manufacturers Yiguang Electronics, Guangbao Technology, Shunhong and Dongbei Optoelectronics all saw their revenues decline in December 2007, but the annual revenue in 2007 increased by 19-39%, and the revenue in 2008 is expected to increase by 30- 50%.
In the 2007 Taiwan LED Manufacturers Income Rankings, Lite-On Technology ranked first with 21% of the annual growth rate of NT$10.6 billion (US$326 million). The company hopes that this year's revenue will reach NT$15-18 billion, an increase of 40%.
Bill Yeguang Chairman Robert Yeh said that the company's total annual LED revenue is NT$9.86 billion, with an annual growth rate of 24.13%. It is estimated that revenue in 2008 will increase by 30% to NT$13 billion.
Based on the strong demand for SMD LEDs and LEDs for small and medium-sized panel backlights, Yuhong expects the company's revenue gross margin to increase by 20% in the first quarter of 2008 to reach NT$1 billion. Yu Hong said that his 2007 income was NT$3.56 billion. Industry experts believe that Yuhong’s revenue in 2008 is expected to increase by 50%.
