South Korea Passes Smart Grid Act

As part of the government's plan to reduce CO2 emissions in South Korea, the Korean Smart Grid Act will come into effect on November 25.

The Ministry of Knowledge Economy stated in an e-mail statement that South Korean President Lee Myung-bak passed the bill in a cabinet meeting on the 15th, which establishes a legal framework for electric vehicle charging services and power distributors using smart grids. The statement said that such a bill is still the first case in the world.
