Briefly introduce the combination of LED screen lamp driver and lamp driver

The LED display circuit board is generally composed of a light board and a driver board. At present, there are two design solutions on the market, one is the integration of the lamp driver, and the other is the separation of the lamp driver.

The combination of the lamp driver and the LED lamp and the driver IC are all on the same PCB board. The IC is on the front of the PCB, eliminating the need for copper strips. The advantage is that there is no inductive effect and no screen. The disadvantage is troublesome maintenance.

The separation of the light driver means that the LED is on an independent PCB board, and the driver IC is on another PCB board. The two PCB boards are connected with a pin and a row to make signal connections to achieve the purpose of normal work.

Generally, the separation of lamp drivers is used for the following reasons:

First: The LED screen uses a plug-in LED. The lamp feet of the LED affect the normal placement of the rear driver IC, so the lamp drive separation method is used;

Second: The spacing of LED screen points is too small, which affects the wiring of the PCB board in the electronic design. The separation of the lamp driver can increase the wiring area of ​​the PCB board.

Third: It is conducive to heat dissipation without affecting the display effect of the LED. If the lamp driving unity method is adopted, when the LED lamp density is large (that is, when the LED screen dot spacing is small), the heat of the driver IC works It will be very high. At this time, the heat of the driver IC will directly affect the LED lamp facing the IC through the PCB, so that the color of the LED lamp changes. This situation does not occur with lamp drive separation.

Comparison of the two:

1. From the cost point of view: the cost of the integrated lamp drive is slightly lower.

2. From the maintenance point of view: the separation of the lamp driver is easy to maintain, because he can replace each other to detect, and the lamp separation lamp is concentrated together, it is easy to change the lamp.

3. From the perspective of heat dissipation, the separation of the lamp driver is more conducive to heat dissipation.

In summary: Generally, the indoor scanning screen (because of the small number of chips) uses a relatively large number of lamp drivers (saving costs), and most of the outdoor use the form of lamp driver separation to extend the screen effect and life.
