MaximDeepCover® security certification provides powerful system protection and security control for IoT nodes

Beijing, China – October 10, 2016 – Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: MXIM) announces the DS28C36 DeepCover® security certification platform to help industrial, medical and IoT product developers achieve higher levels of IP protection and Equipment protection.

Nowadays, counterfeit products and reusable medical accessories have been widely used in the market, and the security of network sensor nodes is relatively weak. Most companies have realized the urgency of integrating a strong defense platform into products and systems. The DS28C36 platform provides a low-cost, compact solution with a targeted set of asymmetric key and symmetric key protection tools. The asymmetric public key uses the P256-based elliptic curve encryption algorithm (ECC) algorithm, and the symmetric private key uses SHA-256.

The DS28C36 platform includes two verification control GPIO pins that provide selectable safety state control and level detection for enhanced protection for download/import operations. At the same time, the product also integrates comprehensive measures to protect against intrusive and non-intrusive security attacks. Terminal applications include two-way security authentication, secure storage of system data (such as system encryption keys), system critical data verification, security import, and authorization control of end products. The DS28C36 coprocessor DS2476 will work when the primary system controller does not have sufficient resources to support the ECC algorithm or the necessary secure storage for the SHA-256 symmetric key.
