In the past few years, gesture control is usually just an idea that exists in science fiction. Although there were already some similar products on the market, such as Leap Motion or Kinect, they did not make much waves and did not become a revolutionary new technology that replaced traditional input tools such as keyboards and mice.
Bixi is a gesture control product that is determined to change the future. It first appeared at the Consumer Electronics Show at CES and has just recently begun crowdfunding on the Kickstarter website. Bixi is a hexagonal smart device that operates smartphones, tablets, and other similar smart devices by tracking the recognition of the user's gestures.
From the presentation, Bixi is really cool and can activate GoPro to shoot while cycling.
You can also use gestures to adjust the volume of your music during a bath.
Or, when you cook in the kitchen, you can use your hands to translate the menus on the iPad. These seem unbelievable.
Overall, Bixi wanted to control the most commonly used products in life by identifying our series of the most natural and common gestures. At the same time Bixi will remember different gestures corresponding to different products, but overall there is a greater difficulty to achieve.
At present, Bixi can only temporarily control smart phones and tablets.
Currently, Bixi has started crowdfunding on Kickstarter with a crowdfunding target of US$25,000. The early bird price was US$79 (approximately RMB535), and if all goes well, it is expected to ship in March 2017.
In general, we see many interesting ideas on Kickstarter are very attractive, but not all ideas can be successfully converted into actual products, so we should take a cautious attitude towards the support of Kickstarter projects, especially It is a project that has not yet developed a prototype product but only a promotional video, and should pay more attention to it.
