Lantiq Asia Pacific Division and TUM Asia Campus join hands to advance their first industry doctoral program

Provides opportunities for former TUM Asian campus graduates to conduct research and pursue doctoral degrees

The LanTIq Asia Pacific branch and the Technical University of Munich (TUM) Asia branch work together to advance the first project under the Doctor of Science (IPP) in the industry. IPP is a joint initiative of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Ministry of Education (MOE) of Singapore, and is implemented in cooperation with local universities in Singapore and foreign universities located in Singapore.

This collaboration is the first of its kind for both TUM and LanTIq. To this end, an event celebrating the launch of this project was held on the campus of TUM Asia. Mr. Dan Artusi, CEO of LanTIq, Mr. Ulf Schneider, Managing Director of LanTIq Asia Pacific, and Dr. Markus Wächter, Managing Director of TUM Asia, attended this important milestone event.

Since its launch in 2011, EDB has been promoting the project to build a graduate human resources database where students will possess key R & D skills applicable to different roles in their industry. In order to realize the potential of the project in cultivating and developing highly-skilled and qualified personnel, Lantiq also started the project as a PhD student. Taken by the IPP item directory. This is just the beginning of a successful collaboration, and both Lantiq and TUM Asia are planning more such collaborations in the next three years.

Shiva joined Lantiq for the first time as an intern in May 2010 while studying for a Master of Science in Integrated Circuits at TUM Asia. He then joined the system development team in February 2012 and became a formal employee of Lantiq.

His main time is on the design and development of simulation methods for various broadband gateway chipsets, and he has made valuable contributions to Lantiq's system-level verification. Many of his technical articles have been highly recognized, and have been frequently published in various conferences such as regional IEEE conferences and Cadence customer conferences.

"TUM Asia is proud to be Lantiq's partner institution in the IPP project. We provide Shiva with the necessary academic guidance and support to equip them with the necessary skills to meet the growing needs of the industry." Dr. Markus Wächter, Managing Director of TUM Asia, reiterated.

Lantiq has always attached great importance to technological innovation, in order to change the way of applying technology to the future. With the implementation of the IPP project, the goal was to provide Shiva with an excellent opportunity to pursue a graduate degree in an enterprise R & D environment, and to take research to a new level. Shiva received Andreas, Professor of TUM System Integration Direct guidance from Herkersdorf.

Dan Artusi, CEO of Lantiq said: "I believe that most of the innovation comes from the interaction between diligent and talented young people and experienced colleagues. For our young colleague Mr. Shiva Shankar Subramanian was honoured to be chosen We are very pleased to start this great industry doctoral program in Asia, which truly reflects our company ’s belief in winning and the deep professional training of Lantiq engineers. "

The research results of "Deep Packet Inspection" are the core perfect technology in this IPP computer network security course, which will have broad development prospects and make huge contributions to the semiconductor industry.
