Market overview:

The continued rise in energy prices and the successive bans on sales of traditional incandescent lamps in various countries have led to the climax of investment development in LED lighting. Especially due to the earthquake in Japan last year, it led to the outbreak of the Asian LED market.

Due to the long-life characteristics of LEDs, although everyone agrees that integrated LED lamps will be the trend of market development. However, since conventional incandescent lamps account for more than half of the total luminaire applications, it is foreseeable that in the next 3 to 5 years, LED replacement lamps developed with traditional incandescent lamps E14, E26, E27, B22 and other interfaces will be used. According to McKinsey's market research report "LighTIng the Way", LED bulb prices have fallen at a rate of about 9% per quarter. US Energy Star requires that the minimum light efficiency of LED bulbs should not be less than 50lm / W ("10W"), and the long-term requirement is 70lm / W. At present, most of the products of regular manufacturers on the market are generally around 70lm / W.

Safety and reliability are the lives of LEDs. However, due to the lack of effective regulations and supervision in the LED market, the safety and reliability of each enterprise's LED lamps vary. Market factories are flooded with many inferior bulb lamps.

The Guangdong Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision notified the results of a special spot-level inspection of self-ballasted LED lamp product quality on August 21 this year. A total of 23 batches of LED lamp products were produced by 21 companies in 7 prefectures. 73.9%.

Blind price competition but neglecting product quality is the root cause of such a high product defect rate. How to design a bulb lamp product with superior performance and good reliability at the lowest cost is the challenge faced by every LED designer.

Existing technology route and development trend:

1. Thermally conductive plastic radiator + non-isolated drive has become a market development trend:

There are three main materials for the existing bulb lamp radiator: aluminum, ceramic and thermally conductive plastic. And aluminum has die-cast aluminum and extruded aluminum radiators. Aluminum radiator is currently the main radiator used in the market.

The use of aluminum radiators must be matched with isolated drive power, and the insulation protection and safety distance must be carefully designed to meet the safety requirements. Compared with non-isolated drive power, the efficiency of isolated drive power is 5% ~ 10% lower, but the price is about 5 yuan more expensive, and the production process is relatively complicated. As a result, the cost of the whole lamp is high and the light efficiency is reduced. Therefore, more and more lamp manufacturers use ceramic and thermally conductive plastic heat sink bulb solutions.

Compared with plastic radiators, ceramic radiators have the disadvantages of larger weight, large difference in thermal conductivity of batches, and fragility. Therefore, thermally conductive plastic radiators will be the main trend in the development of the bulb market.
