Differentiate DV from mainstream and parallel imports

In home digital products, the digital camera is regarded as one of the highlights. It is not only valuable, but also has complicated functions. Many beginners often do not have the time to purchase.

1, after the selected DV model, determine the price, do not rush to buy, turn around, especially to large shopping malls and product stores. Generally there is no credibility for parallel imports. Write down the various features of DV to compare parallel imports.

2, after determining the store to buy, ask the boss to pick up the goods, at this time do not rush to tear the plastic film of the machine, but the advanced verification below, the general licensed DV has the following characteristics:

PAL system: The licensed products are sold for mainland China, while the television system used in China is the PAL system, so the licensed products must be PAL. Not only because the PAL system is common in the Mainland, it is easier to exchange data with others, and the resolution of the PAL system is 720×576, which is better than the 720×480 of the NTSC system. The most critical point is that most of the NTSC-format digital cameras currently sold on the mainland market are parallel imports into the market via informal channels. There are many problems in after-sales maintenance and parts selection. If the boss responds to the NTSC system with certainty, it can be judged that even if other characteristics of the licensed goods are available, it can be judged to be parallel only if this standard is not correct. In addition, if the boss answer is very vague, we must confirm the pixel value of the CCD, to SONY 17E, for example, if the CCD pixel value is 680,000 pixels, it must be NTSC standard, that is, parallel imports.
Chinese manual, warranty card, which must be licensed. Chinese instructions should be printed, clearly written, and beautifully printed. If the description is a copy, then you must beware! Warranty card must be Quanguolianbao. The models listed above with the purchase of DV and serial number of the machine must be the same as those displayed on the package, especially the machine number.
Remember the position of the AUDIO/VIDEO IN/OUT connector and the REC button on the DV in the Chinese manual.
Make sure that the digital zoom value on the Chinese manual matches the value on the DV body. For example, a DV on the Chinese manual is a 20X/120X digital selective zoom, and the digital zoom on the body is not consistent with this, mostly parallel imports.

3, after the above verification, if it meets, you can tear open the protective film on the DV. Then perform the following verification.

Check the appearance of the machine, whether or not there are scratches on the screws, and if there are any marks on the joints. If there are, the machine must not be required. It must be repaired or somebody should move hands or feet.
Check whether there is AUDIO/VIDEO IN/OUT connector at the outside of the machine. Since some NTSC-based DVs do not have this interface, this can also be used as a standard for distinguishing parallel imports.
Check whether the machine has REC or related keys in the playback button area. This button is used to record external video programs on the tape of this unit, such as TV, video, and even DVD. Since the DV in the previous NTSC system does not have an A/V IN/OUT interface, there is no need to set the REC button, so it is definitely not licensed.
After the above checks, you can initially determine whether it is licensed. The following work is to determine whether the various functions are consistent with the instructions.

4, after checking whether it is parallel imports, it should start testing the performance of the DV machine.

Test the CCD. The test method is to connect the DV machine to a TV or monitor (from the AV or S terminal), put the DV machine in REC Mode (record mode), cover the lens cap, and adjust the brightness of the TV or monitor to the brightest. The screen is a gray, it means the CCD is normal. If you see any light spots, it means that the CCD is defective. Next is the test shot. We should take the inner and outer shots separately to detect their white balance performance. Use different apertures to capture the iris performance under the same lighting conditions. Shoot the closest and infinity scenes to check if the focus is correct and the lens is pulled out. Whether it is even, whether it has influence on the focus, etc. The last is to check the tape and microphone to see if the tape speed is stable under normal, fast-forward, and fast-reverse conditions, whether the volume of the random microphone is adjustable, and whether there is noise or not.
Check the LCD screen. There will be some dead pixels on the general LCD, that is, the color display of a certain point is not normal, and the specific performance is that the color of this point remains unchanged or not displayed no matter what picture is displayed. If you have more than three such bad points, you must pay attention to it.
5, check the battery and other accessories. If you have a friend who has a mobile phone experience, you can realize that the phone you bought is genuine, but the battery is fake. The same is true for DV. Perhaps the one you bought is licensed, but there is no guarantee that the battery is genuine. This is the need to check the battery. It is usually to check the battery capacity and appearance. The licensed digital video cameras are usually equipped with one or two original batteries. Some unscrupulous distributors often steal original batteries for parallel batteries or pseudo-genuine products in order to obtain huge profits. These batteries are often very similar in appearance to the original battery, but the quality is extremely poor, the standby time is short, and long-term use will also cause some damage to the DV machine itself. The most important check is to display the time that can be used on the LCD after full charge (SONY's battery has an IC chip, so the battery can display the remaining usage time in minutes, which is more accurate). At this time, compared with the specification, the gap It is normal within 5%.
