Chengdu Extreme Technology Co., Ltd. was established in November 2013 and became the first high-tech innovative company to introduce the concept of "non-screen TV." Since the launch of its first non-screen TV in November 2013, the company has made significant progress over four years. In 2015, Nomi Screen TV became the first smart micro-investment product with a market share of 51.4%. Globally, shipments of polar meters surpassed traditional giants like LG from Q1 2015 and continued to lead the market.
On March 23, 2016, Mimi launched its 2016 flagship model, the H1—3D-enabled LED light source 1080p Full HD non-screen TV. Then, on July 25, 2017, Kemi introduced the world’s first 120-inch 4K dual-color laser non-screen TV, the T1, along with the 100-inch 1080P laser screenless TV A1 Pro and A1. These innovations marked the beginning of an era of high-quality, high-brightness ultra-HD non-screen TVs, breaking through the limitations of the smart projection market and challenging traditional television concepts.
At the end of 2017, Lomi quietly released a new home-use projector called Tantal D1 under its brand Light Tank. The D1 uses professional 3LCD imaging technology, offering improved color purity and image details. It features a WUXGA resolution (1920x1200, 16:10 aspect ratio) that displays more content, with brightness up to 1000 ANSI lumens. The square pixel architecture reduces jagged edges, making text display particularly clear.
The D1 is packaged in a double-layer box. The outer layer is a heavy kraft carton, while the inner is a white cardboard package, ensuring safe delivery. The packaging shows no signs of damage, even after transport. Inside, the main unit and all accessories are securely wrapped in thick pearl-wool padding for maximum protection.
The D1 includes the main host, an accessory box, a remote control, and user manuals. The remote control is made of white ABS plastic with twelve buttons, including volume control and focus adjustment. It runs on two AA batteries. The accessory box contains a split power adapter and two 7-cell batteries, with a three-phase plug rated at 19V, 7.9A.
Designed for both commercial and home use, the D1 employs 3LCD imaging technology. Its optical engine is larger than average portable projectors, making it similar in size to traditional commercial projectors. The body is constructed using PC, ABS, and a metal heat sink, giving it a sleek white appearance.
The top panel is covered with a protective film, and Chinese characters label key functions. The rear panel has a cooling grille and multiple interfaces, including a 3.5mm headphone jack, SPDIF, wired network port, USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, HDMI, HDMI-ARC, and a power interface. Since the D1 lacks an internal speaker system, it offers multiple audio output options for external sound systems.
Both sides and the front and back of the D1 feature full metal mesh cooling panels, creating a complete airflow system. The left side is the air inlet, and the right side is the air outlet, forming a three-dimensional cooling design. The dense metal grid helps prevent dust and enhances cooling performance.
The front panel is decorated with dot patterns, and a hidden electric projection lens sits in the center. When powered on, the lens cap slides from left to right. The lens features a high-transmittance coating for clearer images.
The bottom has four wooden feet, providing a stable base but lacking adjustability. There is a screw hole inside for mounting purposes. The front nameplate displays the model, delivery information, and electrical specifications. Two rows of cooling holes are located in the center, allowing users to adjust the 1.2x optical zoom without changing the distance.
The top panel has a row of buttons with tiny white grooves. After removing the protective film, there are no Chinese labels, making it difficult to identify in low-light environments. It is recommended to add fluorescent colors for better visibility.
To access the hard drive, users can push the top cover in the direction indicated on the plastic film. The D1 comes with a built-in 2.5-inch hard disk drive, and users can expand storage by adding an SSD. The hidden electric lens adds a high-tech feel, completing the premium design of the D1.
In summary, the D1 offers excellent image quality, a robust build, and a comprehensive set of features. Its design is elegant and functional, though some improvements could enhance usability in dark environments. The product is well-suited for both home and commercial use, and we look forward to further detailed reviews.
