Dynamic Scan Display: The diagram below illustrates the dynamic scan circuit for six common anode LEDs. In this setup, port B of the 8155 chip is connected to the dp(sp), g, f, e, d, c, b, a segments of each LED. Meanwhile, the control terminals G (which correspond to the digits 0 through 5 as shown in the figure) are connected to port C of the 8155. This means that port B acts as the segment port, while port C functions as the digit port. By controlling the C port, the CPU can selectively activate or deactivate each LED. This method allows for efficient display control using a single microcontroller, reducing the number of required I/O lines and making it ideal for multi-digit LED displays.
