Latest PurePathTM Wireless Product Family CC8520 (TI)

Texas Instruments (TI) today announced the first device in its PurePathTM wireless audio portfolio for consumer, portable and high-end audio applications such as wireless headsets and wireless speakers. The CC8520 is an audio transceiver with a 2.4 GHz system-on-chip that delivers uncompressed CD-quality wireless audio over a state-of-the-art RF (radio frequency) link in a noise-free and voltage-dropped condition. Compared to competing products, the CC8520 not only reduces customer bill of materials (BOM) costs by 50%, but also simplifies the implementation of wireless audio.

The dual channel CC8520 is available now and can be ordered through TI and its authorized distributors. The CC8520 is available in a ROHS-compliant 6 mm x 6 mm QFN-40 package. The series will also provide CC8521 (supports dual channel and USB), CC8530 (3 channels) and CC8531 (supports 3 channels and USB).
