Pass Foxconn and Google to cooperate on the latter robotics technology

The Wall Street Journal reported that the two have met in Taipei, and Terry Gou is interested in the automation technology that Andy Rubin showed. External analysis is generally optimistic about the cooperation between the two, that Google can use this to test its robotics technology, and Foxconn can speed up the transition to automated high-tech processing companies. According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Foxconn is communicating with Google about robotic automatic production lines, and both parties are said to have started contact as early as last year. Google’s former head of Android, Andy Rubin, who now leads the company’s robots division, and Terry Goh, chairman of Hon Hai Precision Group, have already met in Taipei on this issue, who is interested in the automation technology Rubin has shown. The WSJ quoted an article in the New York Times saying that Google’s robotics team has always planned to enter the current artificially-driven manufacturing industry with its automation technology, while retail is also within their radar range. At the end of last year, retail giant Amazon also revealed its plan to deliver goods using drones.
For Foxconn, the rising wages and salaries of workers and the frequent disputes around this topic are one of the driving forces for speeding up the process of factory automation. Gou Ming also repeatedly emphasized that Foxconn will complete the transition to a high-tech equipment manufacturing plant that focuses on the production of highly profitable, capital-intensive products such as automobiles and medical equipment in recent years. The outside world is generally optimistic about the cooperation between the two. Analysts believe that Foxconn, as the world's largest electronic device processor, can serve as a perfect experimental field for Google to test its latest robotics technology. Google is allegedly trying to create a robot system for processing and manufacturing. Its role will be the same as Android's role in the mobile operating system. The results of this cooperation will be a good foundation for Google in this regard. Foxconn, the purchaser of this cooperation, has been actively seeking investment opportunities in the United States. In November last year, Bloomberg reported that Hon Hai Precision will start a high-tech factory in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA. After that, 500 jobs will be provided. The investment will be about 40 million U.S. dollars, of which 30 million will be used for plant construction and 10 million will be used to fund the research and development work of Carnegie Mellon University. In addition, Foxconn also dispatched engineers to MIT to study the latest automated manufacturing technologies.
