There are two main methods for measuring the bulk density of ceramics after sintering: boiling method, saturation method

Boiling method:

1. The sample is first placed in a furnace at 150 ° C to heat (use a moisture meter to save time), the moisture in the pores is completely ran away, and then dried, the weighing is recorded as W1.

2-1. After boiling the deionized water, put the sample into the cooking for half an hour (to make the sample sink under the water surface, but do not touch the bottom and the bypass), and cool it in water for 1 hour (this method is a simplified method).

2-2. The sample was cooked in water for 5 hours and then cooled in water for 24 hours.

3. After the sample has absorbed water in the water, the surface is slightly dried and the weighing is W2.

Saturating method:

1. First remove the outer burrs and powder layers of the sample after sintering and weigh the dry sample to W1.

2. Place the sample in the water tank of the automatic vacuum extractor filled with water, and let the dry sample be vacuum-extracted, absorb water to saturation, and perform saturated water treatment.

3. After the sample is saturated with water, wipe off the excess water on the outside. The weighing is recorded as W2.

4. Place the sample in water and weigh it as W3.
