Stone Bending and Folding Machine

Scope of Application:

This folding machine is specifically designed for the bending strength test of natural facing stone under both dry and water-saturated conditions. It complies with the requirements of GB/T 9966.2-2001 and GB/T 19766-2005 standards, covering equipment, measuring tools, test specimens, procedures, result calculations, and reporting of bending strength tests for natural stone. It is also applicable for abrasion resistance testing of stone materials.

Test Procedures:

Dry State Bending Strength Test:

1. Dry the sample in an oven at 5°C ± 2°C for 24 hours, then cool it in a desiccator to room temperature.

2. Adjust the distance between the supports on the bracket with an error margin of ±1.0mm. Place the specimen between the upper and lower brackets according to the fulcrum mark on the sample. Typically, the decorative surface should be in tension, so place it face down on the support.

3. Apply a load at a rate of 1800 N ± 50 N per minute until the specimen breaks. Record the breaking load (F), accurate to 10N.

4. Measure the width (K) and thickness (H) of the fracture surface using a vernier caliper, accurate to 0.1 mm.

Water-Saturated Bending Strength Test:

1. Immerse the sample in clean water at 20°C ± 2°C for 48 hours. Remove and wipe off surface moisture with a wrung wet towel, then conduct the test immediately.

2. Adjust the bracket support distance within ±1.0mm. Place the specimen between the upper and lower brackets based on the fulcrum mark. Ensure the decorative side is placed face down on the support.

3. Apply a load at a rate of 1800 N ± 50 N per minute until the specimen fails. Record the breaking load (F), accurate to 10N.

4. Measure the width (K) and thickness (H) of the fractured surface using a vernier caliper, accurate to 0.1 mm.
